Police raided seven trendy night spots after a nine-month undercover drug investigation. Eyewitness News reported is at, Club Deep in Chelsea with more. A nine-month long undercover operation with the NYPD Narcotic's Division leaves five nightclubs shut down and two with restraining orders. All of the clubs are located on Manhattan's West Side. Under the nuisance abatement law,

4. Spirit on West 27th Street, and
5. Splash on West 17th Street have all been shut down.

According to police, most of these clubs had people inside selling heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, and alcohol to minors.

LONG ISLAND - NUDE BEACHES

Lighthouse Beach Fire Island, NY It was one of the hottest weekends of the summer- a good day for the beach. We had heard about a beach near the Robert Moses State Park on Fire Island, just past Parking Lot 5. "It's to the left of the bathhouse" we had been told. Being experienced nude beach goers, we expected a hike. But it wasn't long, maybe 15 minutes. Our guide post along the way was the Fire Island Lighthouse, which is visible from the parking lot, and from the beach. The lighthouse is part of the National Seashore park, and the nude beach starts where the State park ends, and the National Seashore begins. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, and friendly. The beach is wide enough for people to stroll at the edge of the surf, and for others to play paddle ball. The water and the beach were clean, considering the heavy use, but there were quite a lot of jellyfish in the water (not unusual in late summer). The undertow was strong, and the waves a bit daunting, keeping many people out of the water, even on a day when it was 99 degrees. Some brave souls, however, were enjoying the 5 and 6 foot waves, boogie boarding in the surf.

THE NAKED TRUTH: The beach is designated as clothing optional. The crowd was very mixed, which was a nice surprise, with more couples than at other large beaches we've visited. And, there were even a few families! There is a police presence at the beach. They frequently make the rounds, driving on a strip of the beach close to the dunes in their three-wheelers and jeeps. But the police are not concerned with naked bodies. They are there to keep the beach clean, and people off of the dunes.

THE BARE FACTS: Once you are on Long Island, getting there is a breeze. Take your route of choice to the Robert Moses Parkway (south of course) and follow it straight to the beach. Signs for the parking areas are good, and parking is cheap. Head to Parking Lot 5. Walk to the East side of the bathhouse (the lighthouse side) and keep walking till you see the prominent sign pronouncing the beach clothing optional.

NEW JERSEY | NUDE BEACHES

Gunnison Beach Sandy Hook, New Jersey Wouldn't it be great if every beach under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service had as enlightened a policy as the one at Gunnison Beach in Sandy Hook National Park, New Jersey. Not only does the National Park Service post signs regarding nudity ("beyond this point ...") they also provide lifeguards and security although clothed, unfortunately. Gunnison Beach is the biggest nude beach in the entire Northeast. Thonds flock to the beach during the summer, and on a good day on the weekend, the parking lot often fills up by 11 a.m. We recently went to Gunnison, on a sunny Monday. There were easily 150 or 200 people on the beach -- men, women, and men dressed as women (one of the few clothed bathers.) Gunnison Beach is BIG and can easily accommodate the thonds who throng here.

No one was in the water, which was quite cold. Gunnison is a friendly beach, and the activities going on resembled any other beach you have ever gone to, except for the lack of clothing. One guy was even fishing from the beach, and was having a good day catching in-season striped bass. From the beach, which is at the entrance to New York Harbor, the New York Skyline, and Staten Island were clearly visible.

THE NAKED TRUTH: The amenities at Gunnison are great. The National Park Service is building a new bath house at the entrance to the beach, and on the beach is a concession stand, selling the usual beach fare of hot dogs and ice cream. The elusive wind screen was quite a popular item at the beach. On the day we went, it was a bit on the breezy side, and it was easy to understand why people use the screens, which block the wind, but not the sun. The screens were available at a nearby beach shop for around $30.

THE BARE FACTS: To get to the beach, take the Garden State Parkway to exit 117, the exit for Route 36. Follow the signs to Sandy Hook. The entrance to the National Park is at the end of 36, where it meets the coast. Enter the park and follow the signs for Gunnison Beach. Park in Parking Lot G. At the bathrooms on the boardwalk near the big gun (cosmic synchronically), head to the beach, and to your right. The nude area is clearly marked. Can't miss it.

Open until 2:00 am (Sunday's best time from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM) Mostly all Blacks and some Hispanics. Across the street (diagonally from Boston Book and Video ~click here~This place is packed every Friday and Saturday nights. Open until 2:00 am Mostly all Blacks and some Hispanics. Lots of women (mostly "entertainers"), selling lap dances for $20.00 The place used to be a little rough, much better now since they remodeled the place; dress very casual (do not go well dressed, you‘ll be out of place and all eyes will be on you) Men wear reg. pants or jeans with a reg. Younger crowd (20s & 30s) from all over CT, NJ & NY From the south; Take I-95 to exit 14 turn right at end of ramp and go straight to 2nd traffic light to corner of North Main Street and Washington Street and you are right in the SONO area. From the north; Take 1-95 to exit 15 (-left side of ramp goes to Danbury- STAY ON YOUR RIGHT) go to traffic light at end of ramp and turn left, keep going straight (go past Shell Service Station on you right) go to fourth traffic light (after left turn) and turn left at the CLOCK, go to corner of North Main Street and Washington Street and you are right at the SONO area.

The Shell Service Station is a good spot to approach single women going to SONO area or to NEW YORK CITY for fun on any Friday or Saturday nights. Get gas here and snacks and hang around this Shell Station, you’ll see single women stopping for gas, to buy cigarettes, cigars (yeah, a few of them enjoy their cigars) and snacks on their way to funtimes. We also recommend that you go early (if you are planning to stay there for a while) The couples place is fairly clean, but you should spray the leather couches and the stage poles with LYSOL and clean them good; women dance nude and nudity is allowed in this room as well as ~no restricted~ sexual activity. Excellent place for ~on premise~ swingers party. There is no guarantee that you'll find other couples in the Couple's Lounge, we recommend that you go with other couples and friends. You can use the place to create your own swinging parties. Liquor and beer allowed.

(The Super 8 Motel has a small sign and is located behind the Econo-Lodge Motel on RT 168) The price for a 2 day stay and 2 king size beds was $156.00 ~all included~ or approx. $78.00 daily and plenty of room to hold a little party in the very spacious room. The motel has good service and they offer free breakfast. The motel is not that great looking but the rooms are clean and spacious (especially if you are planning some encounters) For just a few dollars more, we recommend that you ask for two king size beds instead of just one bed. Quiet little get togethers are not a problem.

There is an ADULT EMPORIUM with stripppers, dancing girls and toy store just a few blocks on RT 168 (South Black Horse Pike) ~we do not recommend this place~ because it was almost empty on a Saturday night and mostly older guys who didn't look to have any intentions of even taking a glance at some very prococative women customers that appeared to be looking for a good time, my wife included; you are better off going to Philly on I-295 only 2 traffic lights from the motel.

Take I-295 (south) for 2 exits to exit 26 and follow signs to Philadelphia across the Ben Franklin Bridge, then take VINE STREET on your left (after bridge) and go straight to 21st street (VINE STREET becomes the Ben Franklin Parkway after a little while) make a left on 21st street and go to Market Street where LES GALS is located or you can make any turns around 9th Street for downtown Philly where many Bars and Lounges are located. On your way back to the Motel take the Ben Franklin Parkway going down to 9th street and follow signs for the Ben Franklin Bridge and I-295 (north). Take I-295 to exit 28 (RT 168 - South Black Horse Pike) and make a right at the end of ramp back to the motel only a few blocks away.
